Eleftheria KOTZIA

Biography

Described by USA Review as doing for the Greek soul what flamenco does for the Spanish, Eleftheria Kotzia has toured regularly in Europe, Canada, the United States, South America, North Africa, Australia, New Zealand and the Far East. She has performed both as a soloist and with orchestras at many of the great International Guitar and Music Festivals.

Pascal JUGY

BIOGRAPHY

He studied science, obtaining a post-graduate diploma in acoustics, whilst at the same time teaching himself the guitar and harmony. At the University of Strasbourg, he continued his musical education by studying composition, orchestration and the history of contemporary music with François-Bernard Mâche, Georges Block and Marta Grabocz.

Geoffrey JUBAULT

BIOGRAPHY

Geoffrey Jubault (b. 1981) is a graduate of two Nancy-based institutions, the Music Academy International (MAI) and the CRR, in electric guitar and classical guitar respectively. He also holds a doctorate in musical analysis and orchestration from the University of Nancy.

Maurice JOURNEAU

BIOGRAPHY

Maurice  Journeau was born on November 17, 1898 in Biarritz (Pyrénées-Atlantiques. He studied composition at the "Ecole Normale de Musique" in Paris from 1920 to 1922 included, with Nadia Boulanger and Max d'Ollone.  His catalogue of works comprises 75 works for piano, harpsichord, organ, chamber music and orchestra.

Jean-François SAUTENET

BIOGRAPHY

Coordinating professor at the Conservatory of Mulhouse, and also freelance percussionist playing with various ensembles.
Instructor in computer-assisted music notation software for the CNFPT.

Arranger and composer for various large ensembles (brass, percussion, guitars...).
Director of a music school in the Haut-Rhin.

James PIORKOWSKI

BIOGRAPHY

James Piorkowski is a Distinguished Professor at the Fredonia School of Music, State University of New York, serving as head of the guitar program since 1983.
Piorkowski’s compositions and recordings include many works for guitar, both in solo and ensemble settings, and his live performances have been heard across Europe, North and South America, Russia and in the Caribbean. From 1982- 2000, Piorkowski was a member of the world-renowned Buffalo Guitar Quartet.

Nicolas INDERMÜHLE

BIOGRAPHY

After completing an apprenticeship as a polymechanic and obtaining a maturité fédérale (high school leaving certificate), he devoted himself to his musical studies and entered Pierre Pilloud’s class at the Haute Ecole de Musique in Geneva in 2007.

Daniel HUE

BIOGRAPHY

Born in 1949, Daniel Hue developed a strong interest in the violin as a 12-year-old, switching to guitar around the age of 15. He then entered the Versailles conservatoire, graduating with degrees in performance and harmony in 1968.
He composed a sextet for strings, flute and guitar. In the 1980s, drawn towards jazz and improvisation, he wrote several compositions for big band.
In Metz he met Jean-Claude Madoni who commissioned him to compose for the Souffle d’Ebène ensemble. From 2002, he became the

Franz Anton HOFFMEISTER

BIOGRAPHIE

Franz Anton Hoffmeister was born in Rottenburg-am-Neckar in 1754 and died in Vienna in 1812. In addition to his activities as composer, he published numerous works by his contemporaries, including Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Clementi and Vanhall.
He composed many symphonies as well as concertos for various instruments - including one for viola and double bass.

Gilles HERBILLON

BIOGRAPHY

Composer, conductor and trumpeter Gilles HERBILLON belongs to a generation of creators whose aesthetics encompass traditional, modern and world music.
His catalogue now includes nearly a hundred instrumental, orchestral and educational works.

He was appointed director of the Reims CRR (Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional) in September 2012.
