Roland CORYN

biography

He received his musical training at the Royal Conservatory in Ghent where he graduated as a pianist and viola player. At the same time he finished the theoretical department with a 1st Prize for Composition. In the beginning of his professional career he mainly worked as an instrumentalist in various chamber music ensembles.

Italian-born French composer during the period of transition from Classicism to Romanticism; he contributed to the development of French opera (Lodoïska; Faniska; les 2 Journées; Pygmalion) and was also a master of sacred music (Requiem; Messe “de Chimay”; Messe pour le Sacre de Charles X; Messe pour le Sacre de Louis XVIII; Motets).

Violist with the Orchestre National de Lorraine, Alain Celo also trained in composition with Claude Lefebvre, then with François Narboni. He also followed a complete course in composition at the Metz CNR (harmony, counterpoint, fugue and orchestration).
He received commissions from such ensembles as Souffle d’Ebène, Stravinsky and United Instruments of Lucilin, and from the conseil général of Moselle.

has written an Off-Broadway musical, a concertino for saxophone, a sonata for jazz clarinet, a cantata based on Jame Joyce’s Giacomo Joyce, and a number of works for the Washington Street Trio (clarinet, bassoon and piano).


He attended Harvard on a Leonard Bernstein scholarship, studied piano and composition with Harold Zabrack, and taught for many years at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

His great competence naturally led him to enrich the repertoire with pedagogical works and concert pieces.

Eric BOURDET rstudied at music conservatories in Amiens and the 10th arrondissement of Paris. He holds state
diplomas as a tuba teacher and conductor of instrumental ensembles.

Jean Pierre BOUCHARD is both hornist of the Orchestra of the Republican Guard and an epicurean at heart.

In the course of his various activities, he has met many of the main protagonists of the French musical world, including François CHRISTIN, Jacques DELEPLANCQUE and Patrice PETITDIDIER.
