1 – What is your background as a musician ?

I started guitar and writing classes at the National Conservatory of Colmar at the age of 13. I continued my career at the Bourg-la-Reine Conservatory with Antonio Membrado, then I joined Alberto Ponce's class at the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris where I obtained the Performance Prizes guitar, music theory, analysis and deciphering.

BIOGRAPHY

A graduate of the Paris Conservatory, Jean-Marc VOLTA has been the principal bass clarinetist of the French National Orchestra since 1976. Member of the Trio Européen and teacher at the XIIIth distric Conservatory in Paris, he is also an artistic adviser and instrument tester for BUFFET CRAMPON.
His musical eclecticism as well as his technical and pedagogic research have lead him to create the "CALAMUS" collection for I.M.D.

THE STORY OF IMD

The history of IMD (International Music Diffusion) is closely interwoven with that of its founder, André Cotelle. Professional trumpeter, graduate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, the transmission of his passion is one of the cornerstones of his life. In the 1980s, he began publishing by reprinting the trumpet bible, the Arban method.

1- What is your background as a musician?

As a child, I took singing and piano lessons. At the age of 12, I started playing saxophone in a school band. After graduating from Senzoku Gakuen College of Music, I studied in France with Jerome Laran. I currently play saxophone and teach, conduct, arrange and compose.

1- What is your background as a musician?

I was born in a family of musicians. My musical training started at the age of 4 with choral singing, then with the piano at the age of 8 and the bass saxhorn at the age of 14 at the conservatory of Chalon-sur-Saône. Later I took writing courses in harmony and conducting. While learning the piano, I was introduced to composition and improvisation, which contributed to develop my interest in contemporary music.
