BIOGRAPHY
From then on his future seemed mapped out. He entered the Conservatoire de Musique in Paris, earning prizes in composition and music history. After leading parallel careers as composer and artistic director between 1950 and 1971, Jean-Michel chose to devote himself entirely to music education, a fi eld in which his open-mindedness (classical, baroque, jazz, popular music…) was noted and praised, a selective eclectism he has succeeded in passing onto his pupils. This experience has inspired him to publish numerous unorthdox but very popular music teaching manuals.
