BIOGRAPHY
Sylvie Parlati started learning the guitar at age 8 with her father. She gave her first performances as a soloist at age 9. She continued her apprenticeship with Jean-François Lutz at the conservatory of Colmar for a few years. In 1989 she was admitted into the Madrid’s Real Conservatorio Superior in Jorge Ariza’s class and secured her prize. She perfected her skills during internships and master classes with Léo Brouwer, Raul Maldonado, Roberto Aussel, Vladimir Mikulka, Cotsiolis Costas, José Tomas and Martinez Parilla.
Her concerts have taken her to South America (Costa Rica), Portugal, Turkey, Spain and Greece.
She founded the Mélicordes ensemble, is musical director of the guitar concert season at the Rixheim wallpaper museum and teaches at music schools in Rixheim and Riedisheim. She shares and passes on her passion and love for her instrument to her students.
