BIOGRAPHY

Sergei Patramansky (1964) is a member of the Russian Composers’ Association. He graduated from the Ural State Conservatory, studying composition under Professor A. Nimensky in Yekaterinburg. He took a composition master class with S. Berinsky (Moscow) and an orchestra master-class with A. Terteryan.

In July 2007 he was one of the finalists in the International Conference on Music Since 1900 (York, UK), on which occasion his piece Weightless was performed. In 2015, with his work Constellations, he was one of the three winners of The Sixth Annual Counterpoint International Competition 2015 (Lucca, Italy).

Among his compositions are a Piano Concerto (1989), White Nights, a chamber opera based on the F. Dostoevsky novel (1998), Sacramental Sequences for string quartet (2001); Quinta essentia for small symphony orchestra (2004)…
