Philippe SLOMINSKI

Born in 1960 in Bruay-en-Artois into a family of «Polish miner» musicians, Philippe Slominski began playing the cornet at age 7.

BIOGRAPHIE

He entered the Lille Conservatory in 1974, where he was awarded first prize in 1977. In 1978 he joined the Musique de l’Air in Paris and performed in the Parisian revues of the Moulin Rouge and the Folies Bergère. Philippe Slominski has given numerous concerts with the Big Bands of Claude Bolling, Martial Solal, Antoine Hervé’s National Jazz Orchestra and Michel Legrand, with whom he recorded film music. 

Since 1984, he has performed live and in the studio with artists from all genres: Gilbert Bécaud, Charles Aznavour, Jacques Dutronc, Bernard Lavilliers, Jean-Jacques Goldman, Florent Pagny, Céline Dion, Michel Sardou, Michel Fugain, Dany Brillant, Sanseverino, Zaz, Alpha Blondy, Cheb Khaled, Paul Simon, Kassav’, Angélique Kidjo, etc.
