BIOGRAPHY

Ariel Ramírez, is born in Santa Fe September 4, 1921 and died in Monte Grande on February 19 2010, is a songwriter and contemporary Argentina pianist. It is also a theater artist (film music composer, soundtrack or actor). He allowed the dissemination of traditional South American culture through an extensive discography and exhibitions from 1955 to 1980.

He composed over three hundred songs, especially with two of his friends, Miguel Brasco and Felix Luna. Therewith, he created some of the most beautiful contemporary Argentina songs, like Los Reyes, Antiguo Dueno of Flechas, especially Alfonsina y el Mar, played by Mercedes Sosa, piece that pays homage to the poet Alfonsina Storni Martignoni ( 1892-1938), a friend of Jorge Luis Borges and Fererico Garcia Lorca, who committed suicide by drowning in the sea.
