Luc NIETO

Born in 1962, Luc Nieto is a french guitarist and composer.
He studied guitar with Gérard Reyne, and also harmony analysis at National Conservatory in Lyon.

BIOGRAPHY

Self-taught composer, he uses tonal or atonal langage according to the color or the expression he wishes.

He composed many pieces for guitar, and works for chamber music and theater.

First prize in the Carrefour Mondial de la Guitare de la Martinique Composition Competition in 1990 with "Les Yeux de Num" (Luc Nieto recorded it in 1994 for the CD Espace Tonkin-Guitare festival, also featuring Éric Franceries, Jacques Marmoud and Guillermina Soulès).

Laureate of the Composition Competition Marin Goleminov (Sofia, Bulgaria)

in 2020 with "3 Regards Solitaires" for solo clarinet, inspired by paintings by Mondrian, Mirò and Matisse.

Luc Nieto teaches guitar in the Lyon area, performs in solo concerts or with LuuL, duo with his daughter Luna Nieto, singer, and he creates musical shows

allowing the discovery and experimentation of musical instruments by children.
