Jean-Claude MADONI

Biography

Jean-Claude MADONI (1951), a native of South-Western France, took first prizes in clarinet and chamber music at the Paris CNSM, and from 1977 to 2014, has been solo clarinettist for the Orchestre National de Lorraine.


Very committed to teaching, he has concurrently pursued a career as educationalist, and has been teaching clarinet until 2014 at the École de Musique à Rayonnement Intercommunal in Metz. In 1998 he founded, with support from the latter, the Souffle d’Ebène clarinet choir with the aim of bringing together clarinet players from various music schools, the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional in Metz, as well as promoting his instrument : clarinet. In 2009 the Académie Nationale de Metz awarded him the Médaille des Arts et Conservation du patrimoine (medal for arts and conservation of heritage) for his work with Souffle d’Ebène.
