Biography

Jean-Charles Gandrille, born in 1982, is a composer and organist. He studied music at the CNSM in Paris, where he won six prizes.

Meeting Jean-Louis Florentz and Thierry Escaich left a deep impression on him, and both of them encouraged him to continue composing. He also openly acknowledges his admiration for Arvo Pärt and the accessibility of his music.

His works have been performed by the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra and by the choir of Notre-Dame de Paris, both as part of the liturgy and in concert. He is the titular organist of the church of Notre-Dame in Auvers-sur-Oise.
