BIOGRAPHY

Gino Samyn secured a First Prize in piano and saxophone at the Lille Conservatory in 1995. He continued his studies in Paris under Jean-Yves Fourmeau and Claude Delangle. There he obtained his State Diploma as a saxophone teacher and became eligible for the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Paris.

He also has a passion for jazz and popular music and has performed with such prestigious artists as Didier Lockwood, Phil Abraham, Claude Égea, Claude Bolling, Jeane Manson, etc. He has toured internationally with Jil Aigrot, Edith Piaf’s voice in the acclaimed motion picture La Môme, for whom he also served as artistic director, conducting the Budapest Symphony Orchestra and performing at the Olympia in Paris.

Gino Samyn is also a composer and has written over a dozen educational books. In recent years he has written mainly for the Saxoclone Trio, with whom he performs throughout the world. He is currently director of the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Communal in Croix.
