Composition and improvisation have always gravitated around Éric Goubert like a self-evident truth.
From the very first time he lay his hands around the vast universe of music, the urge to create appeared.
He shaped this inborn talent throughout his youth - slowly but surely. And once this stage reached fruition, he decided to record his début album, Ivogabus : a work that punctuates and opens an experience fed on often opposite, but ultimately complementary musical
worlds. A clarinettist, he composes mainly around his instrument.
His career as member of orchestres, clarinet ensembles and rock or jazz groups led him to write pieces such as the one you are holding in your hands, where structure and improvisation coexist and conventional genre boundaries dissolve.
