Biography

Alexandre studied trombone under Jacques Mauger, Ian Bousfield and David Bruchez. He secured a Master’s degree in Music pedagogy, then an Orchestra-oriented Master’s degree.

Alongside his instrumental studies, he attended Xavier Dayer and Michael Jarrell’s composition classes.  He regularly receives commissions and his works have been performed in Switzerland, France, Germany, Bulgaria, Brazil and the United States. In 2013 he won second prize at the composers’ competition "Artistes en Herbe" in Luxembourg.

As a trombonist, Alexandre has held membership of prestigious academies (Verbier and Lucerne Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival), and served as a trainee musician in several Swiss orchestras (Sinfonieorchester Biel, Berner Sinfonieorchester, Sinfonieorchester Basel). In the last ten years, Alexandre has played regularly in professional ensembles in French-speaking Switzerland and abroad (Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, Ensemble Intercontemporain, etc.). He also won second prize at the International Trombone Competition of Alsace in 2017 and was awarded the Fritz Gerber Award in 2016.
